Visiting Diesels

A wide selection of locos have used our mainline connection to visit Dereham. Some of these visitors have come for one of our gala events, while others hauled railtours. Our maintenance facilities are regularly used by mainline rail companies as they are cheaper, more convenient and closer to hand than the alternatives.

Nenta Traintours ran a railtour from Dereham to Portsmouth in 2002. The train had to have locos on both ends, as there wasn't room to release locos of such a long train in Dereham. On the Wymondham end of the train is 67 008.
